What is nursing footcare?

A footcare nurse takes care of the foot and lower leg; nail cutting and filing, corn removal and callus reduction, skin care, circulation and mobility. Improving foot health, maintaining what a client has and providing education are the goals of nursing footcare.

What can I expect during my visit?

Health information will be collected at time of booking.  First time appointments include a review of info, explanation of care and signing of consent form.

Once you have settled into a comfortable chair in an area with good light, we will have a quick chat about any concerns you may have with your feet.

A foot assessment will be done prior to the session to check your circulation, how your nails are growing and your skin status.

Please provide a full sized towel and a wash cloth.

Who can benefit from footcare?

  • Diabetics

  • Seniors

  • People with foot care problems such as fungal nails, athlete's foot, calluses, corns, thickened nails, sore feet

  • Individuals who are unable to care for their own feet because of vision or mobility issues

What kind of tools are used?

A professional is only as good as her tools.  I use quality footcare tools that are made for the job.

All footcare tools are disinfected and steam sterilized to prevent the transmission of microorganisms between clients.  Tools are routinely inspected and protocols for reprocessing are strictly monitored.

Every session starts with pouched, sterilized tools that are opened right in front of you.
