Who needs footcare?
There are many situations where you might need to see a footcare nurse:

Immediate care

If your nails are overgrown and and your feet are uncomfortable or if you are having trouble wearing shoes or walking comfortably.

Restorative care

To treat foot problems such as corns, calluses or recurring ingrown nails.

Maintenance care

To keep feet healthy.
This is especially important for people with diabetes as well as for seniors as they can experience changes in the sensation on their feet or skin breakdowns.
A footcare visit may be necessary simply because a client is unable to care for their own feet as they once did due to changes to their eyesight or flexibility.

Sessions may include:

  • Nail trimming and filing
  • Thinning of thickened nails
  • Management of corns and calluses
  • Care of fungal nails and (most) ingrown nails
  • Skin cleansing and moisturizing
  • Massage of lower legs and feet
  • Footcare information and education as needed
  • ​Maintenance of foot health and client mobility
